As an Energy Field Specialist, Justin supports, trains, and assists local trade allies to create relationships and provide oversight to partner organizations. In addition, he conducts on-site trainings and inspections with trade allies, manufacturers, and distributors for energy efficiency technologies and energy program rules.

Justin joined Evergreen in February 2022 after five years in the energy efficiency field. He started his career at a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Renew Missouri. While there, Justin did fundraising and provided support for Missouri’s sustainability goals for solar installations, energy efficiency implementations, and net metering bill preservation. After moving to Chicago, he worked as an Analyst for Verde Energy Efficiency Experts, where he introduced lighting retrofits and HVAC upgrades to small and medium-sized businesses. In the most recent years at Verde, Justin moved into Operations, where he introduced new products and measures such as EV charging, advanced lighting controls and color selectable LED lighting.

Justin volunteers with the Illinois Green Alliance (IGA), where he mentors Skinner North High School students to understand energy usage and ways to save energy in their homes through the Green Schools Program. He is currently the fundraising chair for the IGA Auxiliary Board.

In his free time, Justin loves to rock climb, hike, play basketball, and ride his bike. He is nurturing plants in his apartment and sunroom and will happily accept tips on plant propagating.
