Ben supports, trains, and assists trade allies to successfully propose, sell, and complete energy efficient commercial and industrial lighting projects. Previously, as a residential field specialist, Ben served utilities by hosting training and outreach events and helping to build relationships between contractors, businesses, and utilities to increase participation and energy savings.
Prior to joining Evergreen in 2013, Ben worked at RHT Energy Solutions, supporting Energy Trust of Oregon’s New Buildings Program. Ben also worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation as a motor carrier enforcement officer, helping truck drivers understand ODOT’s rules and regulations. He served in the Navy as an aviation electrician, troubleshooting F-14 aircraft, as well as working with Erickson Air-Crane wiring and the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane helicopter. He has an associate degree from Rogue Community College.
Ben lives with his wife and two boys. The elder son is currently in the U.S. Navy, and the younger one is accomplished in Tai Kwon Do. His family snow skis in the winter and water skis, wakeboards, and wake surfs in the summer. Ben and his wife volunteer weekly as commanders of their local Awana club, a Christian nonprofit.
